If you have not had the opportunity to follow Grant Lichtman’s educational journey across the country, do not waste another day. I have been inspired by the various levels of innovation he has highlighted in his blog, The Learning Pond. At minimum, any leadership team should go through the exercise of taking an inventory of methods, practices, approaches emphasized and make it happen in your school community.
We had the privilege of hosting Grant as he visited several schools in Atlanta. As I reflected on his entry School of the Future Emerging Today at Mount Vernon, I am reminded of our high performing faculty and staff willing to build, an engaged student body willing to risk, a parent community willing to support.
My community is doing something exceptional. I feel privileged to be along for the ride.
