Marsha Powell, Mount Vernon College Guidance Counselor, and I have the distinct pleasure of working with the Class of 2012 every Wednesday afternoon on a leadership course.  We asked them, “What do you consider the most pressing need in the world?”  They responded with the following:

Most Pressing Issue

  • Respect
  • Education
  • Poverty
  • Autism
  • Bullying
  • Thankfulness
  • Veterans
  • Hunger
  • Inequity in Sentencing
  • Debt
  • Disease
  • Clean Water
  • Childhood Obesity
  • and Love.

Interacting with these students, I know that they will win the future by taking the most pressing needs and making innovative ideas happen.
