Thanks for sharing this! Given that I work in the Talent Management space, I found this very compelling and true. From a software developer perspective it’s the intellectual challenge that is the thrill not the $$ although the $ is nice but not the driving factor. What this clip tells me is that motivation is personal and cannot be the same for all people, students included. We are all not wired the same hence, our methods to drive behavior will be different by person or group. I’m thinking now of Marcus Buckingham and his strength-based management program which focuses on identifying one’s strengths, perfecting them and as a manager, how to manage those individuals’ strengths.
