What’s the hype about Skype?

Participating in a global marketplace, a MVPS 1st grade class utilized Skype to interact with students from the International School of Zug and Luzern in Switzerland.  While the interchange allowed students to get to know each other highlighting their cultural differences and their commonalities as children, it gave them an opportunity to ask questions, to observe, to make associations, and to network.  Sounds like a 21st century innovative exercise to me!  In turn, they become more comfortable, courageous and confident stepping outside the traditional walls of the School.  Life ready!

I don’t know about when you were in 1st grade, but I never got the chance to take a field trip to Switzerland.  How great it is to be in the first grade.

In total agreement Dr. Jacobsen. This year has been an incredible year at MVPS! The energy and creativity that Ms. Kirbo brings to the classroom is extremely valued. Our daughter McKensey has developed such a great curiosity for the world around her. I contribute this quest for knowledge to Ms. Kirbo’s great teaching skills. It is a pleasure to be part of the MVPS community! Much appreciation. Best, Dianne
