This morning, I fought the rain and Atlanta traffic (deadly combo!) to attend the Heath brothers book tour discussing Switch.  Here are some important points I took away from the discussion:

Why is change hard?  (1) people are paralyzed to change; (2) they are unwilling to change; or (3) their path is blocked.

Find the bright spots in your organization and do more of it.  Easy way to improve is not emulating other companies.  Emulate yourself at your best moments.

Change is sparked by feeling.  It is hard to think your way into change.  Leaders usually approach people to change by using logic.

Sometimes we ignore situational distractions.  It is often the situation rather than the person blocking the change.

Change takes time.  It takes practice.
